Kids Short Film Competition

You are invited! We would love for family, friends and churches to come and support, so spread the word!
Kids around the Diocese have a unique view and we want to hear it! We are inviting you to get together a bunch of kids 
from your parish and create a short 1-3 minute film that is based on the theme:

It could be a documentary of an initiative around the theme, a skit, a poem, a narrated story or anything else you can think of- the kids will have lots of ideas! We want this competition to be about kids; ideally they will be doing the filming, the acting and the editing.
We have cameras that you can borrow and easy start up guides so don't worry if you are new to using video equipment or working with kids.
There will be a monetary prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to go towards children's ministry and every entry will receive a prize for participating.
1st Prize $300 toward children's ministry
2nd Prize $200 toward children's ministry
3rd Prize $100 toward children's ministry
Where do I start?
1. The first step is to get a group of kids involved, it may be kids from your church and from your local community. If you have a children's programme at your church you may want to dedicate a couple of sundays to brainstorming and filming with the kids, it would be a great thing for them to invite friends to.
2.The next thing is to decide on a specific story or project. The wider theme is "Faith in Action: Loving Others," but you are free to interpret that however you want! You may want to organise a project that serves your community and film it or you may want to create a story that illustrates how the kids can do this.
Jesus showed us some great examples, check out the story of the Good Samaritan and the Sermon on the Mount for some inspiration!

3. You will need a to organise a camera for the filming, if you are able to source one from within your church that is great otherwise we have cameras available to borrow. Cameras will be lent for a maximum of 1 week and will be given out on a first come-first served basis. Book a camera now or contact us here.
